Ira participated in an NSF funded Research Experience for Undergraduates program at the University of North Texas. His lab focused on the optimization of the photosensitizer in solar energy cells. In particular, Ira worked on synthetic strategies for these photosensitizers that optimize the bond strength between the porphyrin dimers and C60.

This summer [2019] I worked at Lehigh Valley Health Network in their Summer Research Scholar Program. My specific project was focused on quality improvement in the Children's Cancer Center outpatient clinic. The 8 weeks that I spent here were dedicated to improving patient flow and colleague engagement, which was a great experience to prepare me for a future career in medicine.
